        Boron carbide, also known as black diamond, is an inorganic substance with the chemical formula B 4C, usually in the form of gray black micro powder. It is one of the three hardest materials known, with a Mohs hardness of approximately 9.5.
        The excellent properties of boron carbide include high hardness, wear resistance, high melting point, high temperature resistance, excellent thermal conductivity, good chemical stability, electrical insulation, lightweight and high strength, low thermal expansion coefficient, and good radiation resistance.
