Boron carbide (B4C) is an inorganic substance, usually a gray-black fine powder, and one of the three hardest materials known (after diamond and cubic phase boron nitride).
Boron carbide has the characteristics of low density, high strength, high temperature stability and good chemical stability. It has great application potential in wear-resistant materials, ceramic reinforcement phase, coating coatings, nozzles, especially in light armor, reactor neutron absorbers and so on.
